Testimonials

kindness & unparalleled level of surgical care

It was a truly serendipitous day when our hospital was introduced to Dr Mark Tonzing. It came at a time when our hospital was needing to expand and provide a more extensive in-house orthopaedic service to our clients. We, and of course our patients have since reaped the benefits of his top-notch surgical skills. The staff and I at Samford are proud to have Mark on board as an honorary member of the team and are extremely grateful for his immense attention to detail, his consideration of each surgical patient, his kindness and his unparalleled level of surgical care. We know our patients are in great hands. Mark’s thoroughness and reliability give us all such confidence in the whole surgical process. This is reflected in Mark's consistently high post-surgical success rate, we could not recommend Mark highly enough.

Mark, we are incredibly grateful for your generosity, your time and your talents: thank you.

I trust him completely

Mark has been coming to our clinic in Fulham for over a year now and the quality of his orthopaedic work is outstanding. To date, all orthopaedic procedures performed by Mark at our clinic, have been enormously successful and I trust him completely. I am confident in recommending him to my clients as I know he will do an excellent job. Mark is always available to talk to and has helped me enormously on some very challenging cases. He is accompanied by his lovely wife Romilly, and arranging a referral online is quick and easy. I would recommend Mark to any clinic looking to undertake orthopaedic work in-house and will continue to use his services in the future.

Outstanding referral level orthopaedic care

Mark has done our orthopaedics since we took over at Roundwood Vets in December 2015. The whole service Mark provides from 2nd opinions on xrays, to pre-op info for clients, to the surgery day itself, to follow up and beyond is really excellent. His information to the practice and to the clients is always clear, detailed and leaves no room for uncertainty. All our patients have had fantastic outcomes from their surgeries and we feel confident managing their aftercare with Mark's guidance and support. Many thanks Mark for giving our patients the option to receive outstanding referral level orthopaedic care at their local vet.

Highly recommended

Mark provides an excellent service at affordable prices. He has contributed greatly to the success of our first year; we have been incredibly impressed with the quality of surgery and recovery of all our patients we have referred to him. His radiographic referral service is second to none and Mark always gets back to you promptly with his advice. I would recommend him highly to other sole charge practices that require orthopaedics.

Matched our high expectations

I have found using Mark’s services to be of great benefit to our clients as well as the clinic. Mark is very approachable, easy to work with and happy to discuss cases over the phone. And most important of all, the clinical outcomes have matched our high expectations.

Always very approachable

We’ve had Mark to the practice 5-6 times in the last 12 months. The best I can say is that his service is exactly as it is described on the website. He has given us great advice on the X–rays initially, and then followed that up with a really reliable clinical service. Aside from the benefits to our clients, we have found it a great learning experience to scrub in with Mark and learn from him as he is always very approachable. I would definitely recommend his service to others.

Attention to detail is second to none

I would not hesitate to recommend Mark Tonzing to any pet owner whose pet requires surgery. He is highly skilled and his attention to detail is second to none. You can be totally confident that your pet is in the best hands. My labrador had to have a TPLO for a ruptured cruciate ligament. She is now in her third-week post-surgery and, apart from the incision, you would never have thought she had had any surgery. That's how good Mark is!!

Given him his quality of life back

Before Clay's (my nearly 2-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier) operation, I did some of my own research about the Bonevet, and read many positive reviews; all I can do is echo these. My boy received the best treatment from all involved - to see him walking almost as he did 4 months ago only 7 weeks after TPLO is amazing - you have given him his quality of life back in small steps - offered the best advice and aftercare that enabled us to make the most of your expertise. If we are unfortunate enough to have to experience this with the other leg at least we know we are giving him the best treatment ... thank you.

a wealth of surgical experience

These days where technical work is increasingly being sent away to referral or after-hours centres it is nice to be able to offer clients advanced in-house services which are both cost-effective for the owner and help keep Vets directly in the loop. It is often more convenient for an owner to attend their clinic, as usual, to drop a pet off than travel on a workday to their regional referral centre. Training wise recent Vet graduates and nurses will be able to assist with advanced surgical preparations to provide monitoring, learning, or remembering skills beyond the comfort zone of spays and dentals. Simply observing and assisting these more complex procedures like TPLO directly is a fairly hands-on form of CPD. Mark at BoneVet has a wealth of orthopaedic surgical experience gained both here and overseas within large referral centres which he now brings to his peripatetic service. With great attention to detail in the preplanning and aftercare stages to ensure the best outcomes, he can also provide assistance with pain relief and post-operative care. We are able to email radiographs to discuss cases and surgical options beforehand.

An exceptional veterinary surgeon

When our dog Nala needed an operation for a cruciate ligament injury we were very concerned about her, she is a highly anxious rescue dog, who has been through so much in her short life. All we wanted was someone great to help her and we got this with Mark. Right from the beginning he showed genuine concern and compassion towards her, we knew after seeing how patient and caring he was with her, that he was going to do the very best for her, and we knew we could put our trust in him and she would be in safe hands. He is also very good with dog owners, he listened to all our concerns and answered all our questions and provided us with all the necessary information, guiding us through the options available and making the whole experience so much easier. In the end we decided to proceed with a TPLO. The operation went well, and after following Mark’s excellent after care plan, her leg healed well, and the movement in her leg was excellent, other vets who saw her, remarked upon what a neat and excellent job had been done, praise indeed from your peers and a further recognition of what an exceptionally highly skilled veterinary surgeon Mark is. When Nala’s other leg required an operation, we had no hesitation in going back to Mark, by this time he had moved to London, which meant travelling over two hundred miles, we would not have chosen to do this if we did not rate him so highly. Once again, the operation was a great success. We could never thank Mark enough, he is a true professional and his work is of the highest standard. We can now say our dog is no longer in pain, her personality is restored, and she has a new lease of life, she is now doing what all huskies do with some real attitude. So, if your dog needs an operation and like us you want the best, you could do no better than Mark Tonzing (BoneVet). It also helps that he is one of the nicest, most genuine of people, who deeply cares and demonstrates such empathy towards animals.
